Macy's, Inc. Same-Store Sales Down 8.5% in February
CINCINNATI, Mar 05, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Macy's, Inc. (NYSE: M) today reported total sales of $1.576 billion for the four weeks ended Feb. 28, 2009, a decrease of 9.3 percent compared with total sales of $1.737 billion in the four weeks ended March 1, 2008. On a same-store basis, Macy's, Inc. sales were down 8.5 percent in February. This is consistent with management's expectations.
Online sales (macys.com and bloomingdales.com combined) were up by 16.2 percent in February. Online sales are included in the same-store sales calculation for Macy's, Inc.
