Thanks for Sharing
Macy's 2007 Thanks for Sharing holiday gifts rewards program
is donating a record-breaking $13.1 million to selected
charities. This signature "give back"
program lets customers support
charities when they enroll in the
Holiday rewards program. Thanks
for Sharing has raised more than
$37 million for charities nationwide
in the past five years.
Passport and Glamorama: Fashion with Compassion
Each year, two unique-to-Macy's fashion extravaganzas
usher in the fall fashion season with glitz and glamour,
while simultaneously benefiting causes important to our
communities and our company.
Passport, the West Coast blend of style and music, benefits
various organizations working to find a cure for HIV/AIDS. The
star-studded fashion shows are presented in San Francisco
and Los Angeles. Passport celebrated its 25th anniversary
in 2007 and has raised approximately $27 million for the
HIV/AIDS cause.
In Chicago and Minneapolis, the "must attend" fall event is
Macy's Glamorama. With high-energy entertainment and the
hottest designs in the fashion world, Glamorama has raised
nearly $8 million for the Art Institute of Chicago and the
Children's Cancer Research Fund in Minneapolis.
Reading is Fundamental
In its second year, Macy's customers donated $2.5 million
to the "Back To The Books" campaign to benefit Reading Is
Fundamental (RIF), the oldest and largest children's and family
literacy organization in the country. Donations support local
RIF programs and provide reading resources. In addition, the
Macy's Fund for Multicultural Resources provides literacy
resources to African-American, Hispanic and Native American
children and their families.
