Eligibility
To be considered for participation, an applicant must be the majority (51 percent or more of equity) owner or co-owner or otherwise have operational control (by control of voting stock rather than all equity, by contract, or other arrangement) of a business that has been in operation for at least two consecutive years and be its primary decision maker.
Applicants also must meet the following additional criteria:
- A legal U.S. resident, residing in the United States, who is either a woman or of Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian-Indian or Asian-Pacific descent
- Aged 21 years or older
- Operate an established U.S.-based business that produces goods for resale in a department store environment
- Able to travel to New York City to participate in the Program
This program will most benefit business owners who:
- Own a business that has growth potential
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically about their business
Required Documents
Eligible applications must include the following required documents and your application may be rejected if all documents are not provided:
- Your application, including your 250-word biographical statement, completed in full and submitted in accordance with instructions given below
- Look book or images of your product complete with wholesale cost and suggested retail price points
- Government issued recent photo IDs of applicant and ALL other owners of business
- Resumes of ALL owners
- Financial statements for business for two years
- Verification of your business as a legal entity (corporation, limited liability company, partnership, sole proprietorship)

NOTE: We encourage submission of your application online. However, submissions by mail are accepted.
The Application Process:
- All applications for the 2012 session must have been submitted either online or via mail by 11:59 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012.
- All eligible applications will be reviewed and select applicants will be called in for an in-person interview.
- Final selections will be made after all prospective candidates are interviewed

Please note that class size is limited. Details regarding dates, pre-work, and location will be included in a welcome packet applicants will receive upon acceptance into the workshop.
