The Fashion Office

The Macy’s Fashion Office directs the organization from the trend perspective. Each season, they create a hot list and trend report to help the merchant organization decide what's important so they can focus their buys for the coming season. The Fashion Office helps establish direction for the fashion for our customer.

The Fashion Office team provides commentary on Fashion Week and other major fashion industry events, providing perspective on what's going to be important for the Macy’s customer. They hone it down and make it accessible—both to the Macy’s internal organization and ultimately to the Macy’s customer.

You'll see our newest looks in fashion magazines. Our associates take the extra step to help a customer in need. Turn the corner in a store, and a display will capture your attention and your imagination. Events and style trends come alive on macys.com, where the Daily Fashion Challenge gives consumers the opportunity to create and accessorize their own outfits from featured items, and purchase the items or entire outfit either in store or online.

Bloomingdale's, America's only nationwide, full- line, upscale department store, is recognized for its originality, innovation, and fashion leadership. It is truly “like no other store in the world.” In fact, Bloomindale's is a leading tourist attraction for visitors and tourists coming to the United States from around the globe. This brand includes 41 stores, Bloomingdales.com, and four Bloomingdale's outlet locations.

Bloomingdale's is separating itself from the mainstream and reinforcing its position as an authority for upscale, contemporary fashion. Customers are attracted by the latest styles from the hottest brands, such as Armani, Burberry, Chanel, Christian Dior, David Yurman, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Prada, Ralph Lauren Black Label, Theory and Tory Burch.

Bloomingdale's shoppers have come to expect and savor variety – the newest looks from established brands, as well as unique products from rising young designers. Supporting these fashion brands are exceptional customer amenities – international visitors centers, personal shoppers, outstanding fitting rooms and lounges – elegant events and personalized, attentive service that strengthen customer relationships and build loyalty.

Bloomingdale's Outlets Debut

The company launched a new Bloomingdale's Outlet store concept in 2010. Four new Bloomingdale's Outlets, each with approximately 25,000 square feet, opened in fall 2010 in Bergen Town Center in Paramus, NJ; Dolphin Mall in Miami, FL; Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, VA; and Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, FL. Bloomingdale's Outlet stores offer a range of apparel and accessories, including women's ready-to-wear, men's, children's, women's shoes, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags and intimate apparel. Three new Bloomingdale's outlet stores are opening in 2011, and more are planned.

Bloomingdale's Opens in Dubai

On Feb. 1, 2010, Bloomingdale's opened in Dubai under a license agreement with Al Tayer Insignia, a company of Al Tayer Group LLC. This is the company's first international location. A three-level Bloomingdale's apparel and accessories store with 146,000 square feet and a one-level home store with 54,000 square feet anchor The Dubai Mall, one of the world's largest shopping centers. Delivering a world-class retail experience, Bloomingdale's Dubai is a full-line, upscale department store showcasing a brand portfolio representing the latest and most desirable merchandise across every category throughout both the main and home stores. Included are boutique shops from luxury fashion houses such as YSL, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Jimmy Choo, Balenciaga, Coach and Armani Collezioni; a Concierge Desk for priority customer service; a dedicated Fragrance Hall; the largest designer footwear department in the region; and a children's world with interactive games, rides and toy machines.
